The Problem

Poor working posture has resulted in 85% of dental professionals reporting that they suffer from low back pain.  Traditional seating can confine the body to a static position; restricting core movement that allows one to use their own natural posture and balance.  This lack of movement results in atrophy of the inner core muscles, causing the body to overcompensate by using the larger muscles of the back, which are not designed to carry the physical demand being placed on them. The result . . . chronic back pain and fatigue.

The DynaCore™ operator's stool provides a safe, progressive way to activate and exercise the core muscles while you use the stool.  It does this through the use of a Therapeutic Dynamic Seating System, that when combined with Brewer Design's clinically researched upholstery, creates a dynamic seating experience that increases back and core muscle strength while you work.

The Science behind DynaCore

The DynaCore™ has been brought to the dental market through a partnership between Brewer Design and CoreWerks, Inc.  Dr. Horst Schaaf, a renowned Physicist and founder of CoreWerks, Inc. spent years researching the neuromuscular issues surrounding core strength and developed the Dynamic Therapeutic System used in today's DynaCore™.

The design inspiration came from the benefits he saw while observing patients using equestrial therapy (horseback riding).  Eager to understand the neuromuscular benefits of this therapy, he began his research.  After years of work, he developed the technology that provides a progressive, non-invasive treatment for low back pain through strenghtening the muscles in the back and body core.  In addition, he research also shows that the right movement of the deep inner layer core muscles increases the sensory feedback to the brain, which as a direct, positive affect on our ability to focus while increasing our productivity, and concentration levels.
